Range: — Colombia to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Uncommon in montane rainforests, in the understory, localized, usually at the upper end of gorges; 2900 m.
Notes: —A species with conspicuously thin trunks clad in whitish spreading scales and long overarching fronds. The pinnule shape varies greatly with size, with only linear lanceolate sessile pinnules in small plants or plants from sunny spots, to long stalked fully pinnate triangular pinnules in larger plants from the forest interior.
