Range: —Andes from Colombia to Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Uncommon in montane rainforests, in the understory, localized and rare; 1350–1500 m.
Notes: —This species usually stands out in the field because of the coarsely dissected, glossy lamina and the large chestnut brown petiole scales. It occurs at low population densities.
