Range: — Colombia to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC).

Ecology: —Common in montane rainforests, preferring open conditions, dominating on old landslides and along roads and rivers; 1100–2750 m.

Notes: —One of the most frequently seen tall tree ferns in the Andes, recognizeable from far away by the opposite pinnae, pale green laminae and yellow frond axes.
