Cyathea lindigii (Baker) Domin, Pteridophyta View in CoL 264. 1929.
= Cyathea multiflora Sm. of auctt., not Lehnert (2011b).
Range: — Colombia; Peru, Bolivia (BE, CO, LP).
Ecology: —Common in humid forest understory; 280–1200 m.
Notes: —Long treated under a broadly defined Cyathea multiflora Sm. , C. lindigii represents a larger species restricted to the eastern Andes ( Lehnert 2011b). Habitally it is similar to C. leucolepismata but petiole scales are much darker and petioles are not hairy. The Colombian population of C. lindigii , to which the type belongs, is separated by a considerable gap from the central Andean one and occurs at higher elevations ([700–] 1500–2200 m). Further investigations may find that these populations represent different species.
