4. Adriaphaenops stirni ( Pretner, 1959) View in CoL

( Figs. 11 View FIGURES 9 – 11 , 14 View FIGURES 12 – 15 , 24 View FIGURES 23 – 30 )

Pretner, 1959:83 ( Aphaenopsis ), Type locality: Velja Peć appelatur apud Carev most in margine meridiano regionis Nikšićko polje (Res publica Montenegro).

Material examined. Paratype male labelled: “ Velja peć 7.VI.1957 ” (white label, hw)/“ Carev most (Nikšić)” (white label, hw)/“ Crna gora leg. E. Pretner ” (white label, hw, p)/“ Adriaphaenops stirni n.sp. det. E. Pretner ” (white label, hw, p)/” LECTOTYPE Adriaphaenops stirni ( Pretner, 1959) Lohaj & Quéinnec des. 2014” (red label,p) ( NMP) .

Remark. In the original description based on two male specimens (one immature and one mature) author did not designate Holotype and Paratype specimen. Current deposition of the initial immature male collected by Jože Štirn on 29. X. 1956 is unknown (Slavko Polak, pers.comm.). For the above mentioned reasons the Lectotype male of Adriaphaenops stirni ( Pretner, 1959) is here designated.

Diagnosis. L: 5–5.35 mm, TL: 4.7–5.15 mm. Head large, slightly rounded, distinctly longer than wide (index HL/HW 1.39), frontal furrows moderately impressed, reaching to first third of head length, with two pairs of long supraorbital setae; neck constriction distinct; genae gently convex, forward constrictive. Clypeus with four pairs of setae, labrum with three pairs of setae, outer pairs longer. Antennae long (AL 3.45 mm). Pronotum elongate (index PL/PW 1.59), nearly as wide as head, with maximum width in anterior third, basal part distinctly narrower than anterior, anterior angles small and acute, posterior angles obtuse. Elytra elongate, subovate, distinctly longer than wide (index EL/EW 1.69), with maximum width at middle; elytral surface covered with sparse, short and erect pubescence; striae totally vanished. Site of stria 3 with three (two discal and one preapical) setae.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23 – 30 ): aedeagus relatively short and gently curved, sagittal aileron very large, endophallus without distinct copulatory piece. Apex narrow and strongly arcuate dorsally in lateral aspect, parameres wider, with two shorter setae at apex.

Female unknown.

Distribution. Montenegro, Nikšić, Carev Most, Velja pećina cave. So far known only from the type locality. Velja pećina cave is also the type locality for Speonesiotes (Kulzeria) dorotkanus noesskei Zariquiey, 1927 ( Cholevidae, Leptodirini ). Seracamaurops fodori Székessy, 1943 ( Staphylinidae , Pselaphinae ), Neotrechus suturalis suturalis (Schaufuss, 1864) and Neotrechus hilfi hilfi Reitter, 1903 ( Carabidae , Trechini ) were also reported from this cave.
