Distribution: Southeast U.S.
Specimens examined: Five from two collection events.
Flight period: May and August.
Remarks: The paratype collected from the Iowa Experimental Station does not conform with the current author’s concept of M. carabivorus . It is deemed a species near M. muesebecki .
