Type material.

Agrilus nagaoi Nakane, 1983 . Primary: Holotype, Ƥ, ( EIHU): " Hatsuno , Amami-Oshima [p] 16.VII. [h] 19 [h] 62 [h] Coll. J. Nagao [p] \ Holotype [p] [red label] \ Agrilus nagaoi Nakane [h] det. T. Nakane [p] [pink label] \ Nakane Coll. Sehu Japan 1999 [p] [green label]". Described from 1 specimen (Holotype) .

Remark: Agrilus nagaoi Nakane was considered conspecific with A. maculifer Saunders, 1873 by Jendek & Grebennikov (2011). The re-examination of genitalia of the lectotype of A. maculifer Saunders revealed differences between the species.
