10. Elgiva Meigen, 1838 View in CoL View at ENA
( Figs. 45–46 View FIGURES 41–48 , 66 View FIGURE 66 )
Elgiva Meigen, 1838: 365 View in CoL . Type species: Musca cucularia Linnaeus, 1767 (by designation of Rondani, 1856).
Ilione Hendel, 1901: 141 View in CoL . Type species: Musca cucularia Linnaeus, 1767 (by designation of Steyskal, 1965).
Diagnosis. Well characterized by almost rectangularly-bent crossvein dm-cu, setulose anepisternum and anepimeron, lack of subalar setae, and hyaline wing with several isolated dark spots.
Remarks. Of the 7 described species, 4 are known from the Palearctic Region (2 restricted to the Palearctic Region and 2 known from both the Palearctic and Nearctic Regions), and 3 are restricted to the Nearctic Region.
Before our study, Elgiva was known from China. Rozkošný & Knutson (1991) described Elgiva manchurica as a new species from China on the basis of a male from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province (Palearctic Region of China). In our study we did not find E. manchurica , but we found 2 males and 3 females, also from Heilongjiang, which belong to 2 other species, E. solicita ( Harris, 1780) , and E. divisa ( Loew, 1845) , both new to China.
Specimens examined. E. solicita : 2♀, CHINA, Heilongjiang, Dailing, 390 m, 1957. VII. 15, Shixiu Zhou ( IZ- CAS). E. divisa : 2♂ 1♀, CHINA, Heilongjiang, Fujin , 1970. VIII. 14, collectors unknown ( IZCAS).
