Coremacera Rondani, 1856: 106 View in CoL . Type species: Musca marginata Fabricius, 1775 (original designation).

Statinia Meigen, 1800: 36 . Type species: Musca marginata Fabricius, 1775 (by designation of Latreille, 1802) Diagnosis. Well characterized by tuft of long black hairs at tip of postpedicel in all species. Wing hyaline with reticulated pattern. Anepisternum and anepimeron bare. Subalar setae absent.

.

Remarks. All 10 described species are restricted to the Palearctic Region.

Before our study, Coremacera had never been recorded from China. With a unique tuft of long black hairs at the tip of the postpedicel, about 12 males and 9 females that we examined obviously belonged to this genus. By use of various keys we determined that at least 5 different species were represented by specimens from China (Beijing, Shandong Province, Gansu Province, and Guizhou Province). Beijing, Shandong Province, and Gansu Province are in the Palearctic Region of China, whereas Guizhou Province is in the Oriental Region. Thus, in addition to being found in the Palearctic Region ( Vala et al. 2012), our study shows that Coremacera also is found in the Oriental Region .
