16. Pherbina Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 View in CoL
( Figs. 18, 23 View FIGURES 17–24 , 60 View FIGURES 57–64 , 67 View FIGURE 67 )
Pherbina Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830: 687 View in CoL . Type species: Musca reticulata Fabricius, 1781 (by designation of Sack, 1939) [= Pherbina coryleti ( Scopoli, 1763) View in CoL ].
Diagnosis. Wing hyaline with reticulated pattern. Anepisternum with setulae and 1–3 setae. Anepimeron with 1 strong seta. Subalar setae present.
Remarks. All of the 4 described species are restricted to the Palearctic Region.
Before our study, only 2 species of Pherbina were known from China: Pherbina intermedia Verbeke, 1948 and Pherbina testacea ( Sack, 1939) (Rozkošný & Elberg 1984; Rozkošný 1987). During our study we determined 20 males and 26 females as belonging to 4 species of Pherbina . Besides P. intermedia and P. testacea , both of which had been recorded in China previously, we also determined P. coryleti and P. mediterranea from China. Most specimens were collected in the Palearctic Region of China (Heilongjiang Province, Beijing, Hebei Province, Henan Province, Shaanxi Province, Xinjiang), but 1 male and 2 females were collected in Yunnan, a typical Oriental Region area in China.
Similar to Coremacera , Pherbina is another genus which was known previously only from the Palearctic Region, but now it is also known from the Oriental Region.
