Finotia Bonnet, 1884  (type-species: Finotia spinicolllis Bonnet  )

The genus Finotia  is characterized by the absence of wings and Krauss's organ, and the tympanum partially covered. The presence/absence of the Krauss's organ is a character used to divide Pamphagidae  into subfamilies (e.g., Storozhenko & Paik 2011); the loss of this ancestral character in the genera Finotia  and Ocneridia  should be considered apomorphic, and consequently it does not seem useful to distinguish subfamilies (cf. Massa 2012 a).
