Ecology. Shelf and slope species found at depths between 55 ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004) and 696 m (Peña Cantero et al. 1997) on different bottoms [mud and sand ( Broch 1948), mud and pebbles ( Billard 1914), rocks and stones (Peña Cantero et al. 1997)]. Epilithic on gravel ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004). Gonothecae: January ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004; Peña Cantero 2008), February ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), March (Peña Cantero et al. 1997; Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004) and November ( Billard 1914).

Distribution. West Antarctic ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), found in Roosen Channel, Antarctic Peninsula ( Billard 1914), Palmer Archipelago and Biscoe Islands ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), off Trinity Island, Antarctic Peninsula ( Peña Cantero 2008), off Petermann Island ( Blanco 1984), the South Orkney Islands ( Stepanjants 1979), the South Sandwich Islands ( Peña Cantero & Vervoort 2004), the Weddell Sea (Peña Cantero et al. 1997; present material), off Bouvet ( Broch 1948; Peña Cantero & Gili 2006) and off Peter I Island ( Broch 1948).
