Thomson (1868) described O. chevrolatii View in CoL based on a single male from Brazil (Pará). The holotype is currently deposited at MNHN. Nearns & Tavakilian (2015) provided a color photograph of the male holotype. Gilmour (1950) described O. defectiofasciata View in CoL , based on a single female from Brazil (Amazonas), and the holotype is deposited at MAGD. Examination of photographs (see Bezark 2016) and original description of both holotypes shows that the latter is a synonym of O. chevrolatii View in CoL , as properly recorded by Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2015). However, as Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2015) is a catalogue only available on the Internet, it has no nomenclatural standing. Thus, we are formalizing the synonymy herein.
