Indian records. Goa— Rane (2008); Tamil Nadu — Michael (1973), Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988), Venkataraman (1991a, 1992a, 1995a, 1999b); Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2002, 2009); West Bengal — Khan (2003); General record— Daday (1911), Fernando & Kanduru (1984), Sharma B.K. & Michael (1987), Murugan et al. (1998).
Remarks. Valid species described from Australia ( King 1853b). In the book of Benzie (2005), Schoedler (1877) is incorrectly marked as the species author. This is a complex of species ( Benzie 2005) which needs to be revised worldwide. Indian authors made a series of studies of its life cycle ( Manimeghalai et al. 1986; Venkataraman 1992a).
Distribution. South Asia, Australia ( Benzie 2005).
Indian records. Madhya Pradesh — Shukla et al. (2002); Rajasthan — Sharma R. et al. (2011)
Remarks. Dubious record. D. dubia was described from Minnesota, U.S.A. ( Herrick 1883), this is a valid taxon of the D. laevis group ( Taylor et al. 1998), but this group is apparently unknown from Eurasia ( Benzie 2005).
