Diagnosis. Mandibles yellowish-brown with a large tooth at apex and with a row of small teeth above large tooth (as in Fig. 111 View FIGURES 103–112 ); flagellum dark brown, 1.0× as long as width of mesoscutum, F4 1.1× as long as wide, apex of clava pointed ( Figs 8 View FIGURES 7–12 , 58 View FIGURES 58–64 ); frons between scrobes and eyes and vertex with strong reticulation ( Figs 83 View FIGURES 76–83 , 100 View FIGURES 92–102 ); occipital margin with a sharp carina throughout ( Fig. 83 View FIGURES 76–83 ); mesoscutum and mesoscutellum with same colour and reticulation ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–30 ); mesoscutellum convex; dorsellum flat, smooth and shiny, posterior margin medially produced to a point; fore wing with 9–12 setae in apico-dorsal part of costal cell, completely hyaline ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7–12 ); fore and mid coxae dark brown to black ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 7–12 ); gaster ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–30 ) 2.1× as long as wide; Gt 1 0.4× as long as length of gaster, dorsal surface smooth, posterior margin straight; Gt 6 0.2× as long as length of gaster with anterior part 2.9× as wide as width of posterior part, posterior margin curved forwards with sharp edge.

Description (female holotype). Length 2.0 mm. Frons between scrobes and eyes and vertex with strong reticulation, scrobes smooth, frons with ±evenly scattered setae between scrobes and eyes. Mandibles with a large tooth at apex and with a row of small teeth above large tooth. Occipital margin with a sharp carina throughout. Dorsellum flat, smooth and shiny, posterior margin medially produced to a point. Propodeal callus with ten setae. Fore wing with five setae on dorsal surface of submarginal vein; with 15 admarginal setae; costal cell with 30 setae on ventral surface, in 2–3 rows, apico-dorsal margin with 12 setae; speculum small and closed below. Gaster elongate; Gt 1 smooth and shiny, remaining tergites with weak reticulation; Gt 1 with posterior margin straight, Gt 6 with posterior margin curved forwards.

Colour. Head metallic blue. Mandibles yellowish-brown. Antennae with scape yellowish-white, pedicel yellowish-brown, flagellum dark brown. Mesosoma golden-green. Legs with fore and mid coxae dark brown to black, hind coxa black with metallic tinges; trochanters, femora, tibiae and tarsi yellowish-brown. Fore wing hyaline with an infuscate spot just below stigmal vein. Gaster with Gt 1 metallic bluish-purple, Gt 2 metallic blue in anterior ½ black with metallic tinges in posterior ½, remaining tergites black with metallic tinges.

Male. Unknown.

Distribution. Costa Rica.

Etymology. Named in honor of Paul E. Hanson, collector of the paratypes.
