Type species. Scolopocryptops longitarsis Newport, 1845 (by monotypy) .

Diagnosis. See Schileyko et al. (2020: 14).

Number of species. 40 species plus 10 subspecies ( Schileyko et al. 2020: 13).

Range (after Schileyko et al. 2020: 6). Neotropics: from Mexico to Paraguay, including Cocos Isl. and Caribbean islands.
