Diagnosis. This species can be separated from its congeners by the forewing having a broad dark rusty brown band at base and the asymmetrical ventral part of the valvae in the male genitalia.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 10 ) with forewing expanse 6.5 mm. Head with frons and vertex pale yellow, occiput ferruginous. Labial palpus with second palpomere yellow, speckled with black on ventral surface of distal part; third palpomere yellow except black at apex, slightly shorter than second palpomere. Antenna with scape white; flagellum with basal several flagellomeres white, remaining flagellomeres black alternating with white. Thorax and tegula ochreous brown. Forewing yellow; broad dark rubiginous brown band at base, its outer margin extending from costal 1/4 obliquely to dorsal 3/5, border slightly sinuate, edged with white scales; costa with a small inverted triangular dark yellowish brown spot at middle, edged with white scales except on costa; rounded white spot along costa between basal blotch and costal spot; white circle filled with yellow and scattered with white between tornus and costa; tornus with a brown narrow rectangular mark; apex with ochreous brown mixed with black scales; cilia yellow, mixed with blackish brown scales around apex, diffused along termen to tornus. Hindwing brown; cilia grayish brown. Fore leg with femur brown, tibia and tarsi blackish brown, tarsi ringed with white; mid leg with femur brown, tibia blackish brown, with a long tuft of white scales at apex, tarsi brown ringed with white; hind leg with femur yellow, tibia yellow ventrally, brown dorsally, tarsi with ventral surface yellow, dorsal surface with basal tarsomere grayish brown except yellow apically, fifth tarsomere yellow, medial three tarsomeres blackish brown except yellow on distal half of second tarsomere.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 16 – 19 ). Uncus long finger-like, bearing long setae. Gnathos narrowly tongue-shaped, fused with tegumen distally. Tegumen branched from posterior 2/5, narrowed to pointed apex. Valva narrow basally, widened distally, distal 1/3 divided into dorsal and saccular regions; dorsal region symmetrical, divided into two parts forming two processes: costal process curved and pointed at apex, ventral process roundly dilated and hairy distally, longer than costal process; saccular region asymmetrical, divided into two processes: right valva saccular region with dorsal process elongated, finger-like, gently curved dorsad, ventral process not well produced, almost right angled ventroapically, mesially covered with numerous long robust setae before apex; left valva saccular region with dorsal process narrowed beyond middle, distally curved dorsad, tapering to blunt and setose apex, ventral process shorter than dorsal process, tapered to blunt apex. Phallus slender, slightly undulating and slightly curved, with two larger and several tiny teeth in vesica.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 20 – 27 ). Apophysis anterioris about 2/5 length of apophysis posterioris. Lamella postvaginalis setose and concave at middle on posterior margin, with two rows of setae ranging from each side of concavity on posterior margin toward ostium bursae. Ostium bursae broadly rounded. Antrum funneled. Ductus bursae short, membranous, widened anteriorly. Corpus bursae elliptical; signum subrectangular, serrate posteriorly, with a large apical spine.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin lati - (broad) and taeniatus (banded), referring to the large dark ochreous brown fascia at base of the forewing.
