Additional localities in Brazil. Teotônio Vilela (09°54’09”S, 36°23’43”W) (in this paper, specimens deposited at the Collection of Plant Mites, Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology), Alagoas; locality not informed ( Arruda & Arruda 1978), Petrolândia ( Moraes & Flechtmann 1981), Bom Jardim (07°47’45”S, 35°35’14”W) and Sirinhaém (08°35’27”S, 35°06’58”W) ( Vasconcelos et al. 2005), Pernambuco; Mossoró ( Flechtmann 2001b), Rio Grande do Norte; Piracicaba ( Flechtmann 2001b), São Paulo.

Relationship to host plant. Leaf vagrants ( Keifer 1969a); rust mites on lower leaves surface in Alagoas state.

Remarks. In Piracicaba—SP, this mite was collected on the lower leaf surface, together with Mesalox abathus Keifer, 1969 , which may be a rust mite ( Flechtmann 2001b) .

Type host plant status. Native fruit tree, not endemic, occurring in most biomes and regions ( Flora do Brasil 2020). Widely cultivated mainly in North and Northeast ( Lorenzi et al. 2006).

Relationship to host plant. Vagrants on lower surface of deformed leaves cohabiting with Mesalox paucinotus Flechtmann, 1995 (Flechtmann 1995b) .

Remark. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plant status. Native shrub or tree, endemic, occurring in Mata Atlântica biome ( Flora do Brasil 2020) .

Relationship to host plants. Vagrants on the upper surface of leaves, found together with large populations of another Eriophyidae of the genus Retracus. Infested leaves exhibited “oily” areas where both mites were present ( Flechtmann 1998a). Symptoms were not reported in the additional host plant.

Type host plant status. Native palm tree, not endemic, occurring in Cerrado, Mata Atlântica and Pampa biomes ( Soares 2020).

Additional host plant status. E. edulis —native palm tree, not endemic, occurring in Cerrado and Mata Atlântica biomes ( Flora do Brasil 2020).

Additional host plant in Brazil. On Guazuma ulmifolia Lam. (Malvaceae) : Mogi Guaçu ( Flechtmann 1999a), São Paulo.

Relationship to host plants. Vagrants on the lower leaf surface ( Flechtmann 1999a).

Remark. Only known from the type locality.

Type host plant status. Native shrub or tree, not endemic, widely distributed in all biomes and regions ( Machado et al. 2020).

Additional host plant status. G. ulmifolia — native tree, not endemic, widely distributed in all biomes and regions (Colli-Silva 2020).

Remark. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plant status. Native tree, not endemic, occurring in Amazônia and Mata Atlântica biomes ( Lorenzi et al. 2006; Colli-Silva & Pirani 2020). Fruit tree widely cultivated in the tropical regions of Brazil; dried seeds (almonds) are used for chocolate production and fruit flesh is also consumed ( Lorenzi et al. 2006).
