Type host. Eugenia uniflora L. ( Myrtaceae ).

Type locality. Recife (08°01’07”S, 34°56’41”W), Pernambuco, Brazil GoogleMaps .

Relationship to host plant. Vagrants on the lower leaf surface, no symptoms observed ( Reis et al. 2010).

Remark. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plants status. Native shrub, not endemic, occurring in Caatinga, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica and Pampa biomes ( Flora do Brasil 2020), cultivated mainly in domestic orchards throughout the country ( Lorenzi et al. 2006).

Type host. Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil. (Aquifoliaceae) .

Type locality. Misiones , Argentina .

Reports in Brazil. Ponta Grossa and Colombo ( Flechtmann 1998b), Dois Vizinhos (25°42’52”S, 53°03’94”W) ( Gouvea et al. 2006), Cascavel ( Alves et al. 2000), São Mateus do Sul (in this paper, specimens deposited at the mite collection in ESALQ, USP), Paraná; Erechim ( Flechtmann 1998b), Capitão ( Ferla et al. 2005), Ilópolis (52°7’29”W, 28°55’43”S) ( Ferla et al. 2006), Putinga ( Gonçalves & Ferla 2013a), Arvorezinha ( Silva et al. 2017) Rio Grande do Sul; Chapecó ( Flechtmann 1998b), Santa Catarina.

Relationship to host plant. Presumably rust mites, living on the open leaf surfaces ( Keifer 1959b). Found on buds and new leaves, causing necrotic spots which turn purple then black, coalesce and cause premature defoliation ( Flechtmann 1998b).

Remark. Type species in the genus. Only known from the type host plant. This species was redescribed by Silva et al. (2017).

Type host plant status. Native shrub or tree, not endemic, occurring in Caatinga, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica and Pampa biomes ( Flora do Brasil 2020). Known as “erva mate” or “yerba mate”, it occurs naturally or is cultivated as a monoculture ( Oliveira & Waquil 2014). Its leaves are used to prepare the drinks “chimarrão” and “tererê” ( Carvalho 1994).

Relationship to host plant. Vagrants, no apparent symptom was observed ( Toldi et al. 2019).

Remark. Only known from the type host/locality.

Type host plants status. Native shrub or tree, not endemic, occurring in Cerrado, Mata Atlântica and Pampa biomes, in the Southeast and South Regions ( Romão et al. 2020).
