Remark. Genus only known from Brazil, up to date monospecific.

Type host. Bactris aff. maraja Mart. (Arecaceae) .

Type locality. Campo Experimental Confiança, Embrapa, Cantá (02°35’40.8”N, 60°29’10.51”W), Roraima, Brazil .

Relationship to host plant. No symptoms were seen ( Reis et al. 2012).

Remarks. Type species in the genus Reginesus , only known from the type host/locality. Not possible to inform if mites were vagrants, since the washing method was used for detection on palm leaf samples.

Type host plants status. Native palm, not endemic, occurring in the Amazonia biome ( Lorenzi 2020a).
