14. Pedicularis gammieana Prain (1889: 260) View in CoL .
Protologue citation:—“EASTERN HIMALAYA : Lang-mang-nang-zo, 10,000 feet, (Pantling!)”.
Type:— INDIA. Sikkim: Upper Sikkim, Lang-mang-nang-zo, 10,000 ft., May 1885, Pantling s.n. (lectotype K000708938!, designated here).
Notes:— Prain (1889) described Pedicularis gammieana based on the specimens collected by Pantling from Lang-mang-nang-zo, Sikkim, India. Presently, only one specimen of Pantling from Lang-mang-nang-zo, Sikkim, India is extant at K (K000708938). The type specimens of Prain are mostly housed in CAL, but at present, no original material is extant in CAL. The specimen K000708938 although probably not examined by Prain, was collected by Pantling from Lang-mang-nang-zo, Sikkim and is a part of original gathering (isosyntype). According to Art. 9.4 of ICN ( Turland et al. 2018), this is also considered as original material and is therefore chosen here as the lectotype as it agrees well with the protologue.
