Materialexamined. Holotype. Female, KENYA: Ke-77/68, Nyandaruadistrict, 10km SEfromNjabini, leaflitterofa Pinusradiata plantation, alt. 2550m; 9.XI.1977, leg. V. Mah- nert & J.-L. Perret. Paratypes: onemale. Localityanddatesameasofholotype .

Diagnosis: Dorsalshieldwithoutornamentation, alldorsalsetaesmooth andneedle- like. Genitalshieldlinguliform, itssurfacewithsomeovalpits. VentralsetaeV6 situatedbetweenV2 andV7, V7, V8 andadinsertedinsame horizontalrow. Surfaceofventralshieldsmooth.

Descriptionoffemale: Lengthofidiosoma 400 μm, width 330 μm (n=1). Shapecircular, posteriormarginrounded, colorreddishbrown.

Dorsalidiosoma (Fig. 14): Marginalanddorsalshieldsfused. Alldorsalsetaeshort (ca 26–28 μm) andsmooth, someofthemcurved. Majorityofdorsalsetaeassociatedwith shortandporoids. Lyriformfissuressituatednearsetaej4 andJ3. Dorsalidiosomawithout sculpturalpattern, onlysomemusclescarscanbeseen.

Ventralidiosoma (Fig. 16): Surfaceofsternalshieldwithoutsculpturalpattern. Allster- nalsetaeshort (ca 6–7 μm) andneedle- like. SetaeSt1 situatedatlevelofanteriormarginof coxaeII, St2 atlevelofposteriormarginofcoxaeII, St3 atlevelofposteriormarginofcoxae III, St4 atlevelofanteriormarginofcoxaeIV. Ventralsetaesmoothandneedle- like. V2 (ca 17–18 μm) situatednearposteriormarginofgenitalshield. SetaeV6 ca 16–17 μmlongand situatedbetweenV2 andV7; V7 andV8 ca 18–19 μm, situatednearendofpedofossaeIVin samerowwithadanalsetae. Adanalsetae (ad) lateraltoanalopeningand ca 20 μmlong. Onepairoflyriformfissuresplacednearanteriormarginofsternalshield, secondpair nearbasaledgesofgenitalshield, thirdpairnearanteriormarginofanalopening. StigmatasituatedbetweencoxaeIIandIII. Prestigmatidpartofperitremeshook-shaped, inner marginundulate, poststigmatidpartshortandstraight. Genitalshieldlinguliform, surface withsomeovalpitsanditsapicalmarginrounded. Pedofossaedeep, theirsurfacesmooth, separatedfurrowsfortarsiIVpresent. Baseoftritosternumnarrow, tritosternallaciniae smooth, subdividedintoonelongandtwoshortsmoothbranches (Fig. 18).

Gnathosoma (Fig. 19): Corniculihorn- like, internalmalaeserrateandlongerthancorniculi. Hypostomalsetaesmoothandneedle- like, h1 (ca 32 μm) andh3 (ca 34 μm) long, h2 (ca 14 μm) andh4 (ca 11 μm) short. Ventralsideofpalptrochanterwithonelongandoneshortneedle- like setae, othersetaeonpalpsmoothandneedle- like. Apicalpartofepistomemarginallyserrate (Fig. 20). Fixeddigitofcheliceraelongerthanmovabledigit, internalsclerotizednodepresent.

Legs (Figs 21–24). Alllegswithambulacralclawsandsmoothandneedle- likesetae.

Descriptionofmale: Lengthofidiosoma 400 μm, width 320 μm (n=1).

Dorsalidiosoma: Ornamentationandchaetotaxyofdorsalshieldasforfemale.

Ventralidiosoma (Fig. 17): Allsternalsetaesmoothandneedle- like. SetaeSt1 inserted atlevelofanteriormarginofcoxaeII, St2 atlevelofposteriormarginofcoxaeII, St3 atlevel ofposteriormarginofcoxaeIII, St4 atlevelofanteriormarginofgenitalshield, St5 atlevel ofposteriormarginofgenitalshield. OnepairoflyriformfissuressituatednearSt1, second pairplacednearSt5. Surfaceofsternalshieldwithnumerousovalpits. Surfaceofventral shieldandshapeandsizeofventralsetaeasinfemale. Genitalshieldcircularandsituated betweencoxaeIV.

Larvaandnymphsunknown.

Etymology: IdedicatethenewspeciestoDr. J.-L. Perretthenotedherpetologist, who collectedthissample.

Remarks. Thenewspeciesbelongstothe Rotundabaloghia (Circobaloghia) subgenus ( KONTSCHÁN 2010). Thissubgenusisthemostspeciosetaxoninthe familyRotundabaloghiidae, with 22 species (includingthenewone) recorded fortheEasternAfrotropicalregion ( KONTSCHÁN 2010).

ThepositionoftheventralsetaeV6, V7 andV8 andthesculpturalpattern ofgenitalshieldofthenewspeciesaresimilartothoseof R. (C.) heterochaeta Kontschán, 2004 , butthisspeciespossessespilosedorsalsetae; incontrast, the dorsalsetaesmoothandneedle- likein R. (C.) perreti sp. n.
