Goja galarzai View in CoL n. sp. Male

( Figs 44–49 View FIGURES 44‒49 )

Diagnosis. Forewings strongly pigmented, with large transverse hyaline areas. A crossvein from Rs to lower angle of pterostigma, R2+3 unbranched, R4+5 dichotomously branched, the second branch forked again, resulting in six branches. M with eight primary branches, M3, M4, M7 and M8 forked ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 44‒49 ). Hindwing Rs two-branched, M four-branched ( Fig. 45 View FIGURES 44‒49 ) lateral endophallic sclerites anteriorly stout, transverse, rounded, bent posteriorly, straight, distally acuminate, directed outward; posterior endophallic sclerites straight, stout, blunt ended ( Fig. 49 View FIGURES 44‒49 ). It is similar to G. circumvittata Casasola González & García Aldrete , and to G. tamensis n. sp., from which it differs in the forewing pattern of pigmentation, and in the fore- and hindwing venation. In G. galarzai , the arms of the aedeagal arch are curved, ending in a well developed apex, while in the two species above, the arms of the aedeagal arch are almost straight, ending in a blunt apex. The size and shape of the endophallic sclerites in G. galarzai are totally diferent from those in the other two species above.

Color (in 80% ethanol). Body brown, with pale spots. Head ( Fig. 46 View FIGURES 44‒49 ), with ochre pattern of pigmentation, vertex with two longitudinal bands, front with two lateral bands, each from the inner margin of the compound eyes to postclypeus, striae of postclypeus tenuous; each gena with a longitudinal band. Compound eyes black, ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Maxillary palps and antennae pale brown, Mx4 dark brown distally. Thorax brown; tergal lobes of meso- and metathorax brown with pale brown spots, pleura brown, with ochre spots. Legs pale brown, tibiae and tarsi dark brown. Forewing pattern ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 44‒49 ), with hyaline and pigmented brown, dark brown and yellowish areas as illustrated. Abdomen light brown, with subcuticular ochre spots. Clunium and hypandrium brown; phallosome with endophallic sclerites, side struts and aedeagal arch brown. Paraprocts and epiproct pale brown.

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head: H/MxW: 1.68; compound eyes large, H/D: 3.39; IO/ MxW: 0.68. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with eight denticles. Mx4/Mx2: 1.03. Forewings ( Fig. 44 View FIGURES 44‒49 ): FW/W: 2.58. Pterostigma with distinct lower angle: lp / wp: 4.21, areola postica rounded apically, almost twice as wide as tall: al/ah: 1.91. Hindwings ( Fig. 45 View FIGURES 44‒49 ): HW/w: 2.88. Hypandrium ( Fig. 48 View FIGURES 44‒49 ) semi oval, rounded posteriorly, a field of macrosetae posteriorly, on each side of the longitudinal midline, other setae as illustrated. Phallosome ( Fig. 49 View FIGURES 44‒49 ) slightly convex anteriorly; side struts narrow, broad based; aedeagal arch with short and slightly rounded apex; external parameres well developed, widely joined to the side struts, wide, rounded posteriorly, without pores. Paraprocts ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 44‒49 ) oval, with abundant setae and macrosetae on distal field; sensory fields large, with 25 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 44‒49 ) rounded posteriorly, convex anteriorly, with one mesal macroseta, distal setal field as illustrated.
