Distribution. The species has been recorded from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Suriname, Trinidad, and Venezuela ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2011 a, 2013, 2014, 2020d, e; Nunes et al. 2023).
