Oxathres proxima Monné, 1976: 587 View in CoL ; 2005: 113 (cat).
Known only by the female holotype from Satipo, Junin, Peru. Similar to O. navicula View in CoL by the form of the prothorax and by the colour of the pubescence, but differs by the dense yellowish pubescence covering the sides of the prothorax and the basal half of the elytra. In O. navicula View in CoL the pubescence of the prothorax is sparse and in the elytra is arranged in several longitudinal rows.
