Figures 4–5 View FIGURE 4 View FIGURE 5 , Map 1

Description. Male. Fastigium verticis about 1.5 times as broad as scape ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Pronotum subsellate, anterior margin slightly protruding, posterior margin subtruncate, lateral lobes of pronotum trapezoid, longer than high, humeral sinus conspicuous ( Fig. 4B–C View FIGURE 4 ). Fore and middle femora unarmed on ventral surface. Fore and middle tibiae with 5 pairs of spines on ventral surface separately; dorsal surface of middle tibiae with 1 inner apical spine. Hind femora with 5–7 inner spines and 6–8 outer spines on ventral surface; hind tibiae with 5–6 inner spines and 6– 7 outer spines on dorsal surface, 1 pair of dorsal apical spines, 2 pairs of ventral apical spines, and 1 pair of ventral subapical spines. Ninth abdominal tergite short, posterior margin with a semicircular concavity. Tenth abdominal tergite short, centre of posterior margin with 1 pair of subparallel processes, basal area connected, apical area strongly bent inwards. Cerci slightly short, conical ( Fig. 4D–E View FIGURE 4 ). Subgenital plate rectangular, broader than long, posterior margin with a remarkable concavity in the middle, the lateral lobes triangular with apices rounded ( Fig. 4F View FIGURE 4 ).

Female. Appearance of female is similar to male. Seventh abdominal sternite comparatively small, not membranous, posterior margin obtusely rounded. Apex of ovipositor obtusely rounded ( Fig. 4K View FIGURE 4 ). Subgenital plate short, basally broad, posterior margin obtusely rounded ( Fig. 4L View FIGURE 4 ).

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes brown, head capsule around eyes black. Fastigium verticis black; occiput with 1 semicircular unconspicuous yellow stripe (some darker or lighter). Disc of pronotum black, ventral margins of lateral lobes black ( Fig. 4B–C View FIGURE 4 ). Genicular lobes of all legs black brown. Fore and middle tibiae with blackish brown spines, their apices yellowish. Ninth abdominal tergite and processes blackish brown ( Fig. 4D–E View FIGURE 4 ).

Discussion. We examined the specimens from Bawangling (Changjiang), Yashi village (Baisha), Limushan (Qiongzhong), Yinggezui (Baisha), and Diaoluoshan (Lingshui). The semicircular yellow stripes on occiput are either darker or lighter in color. The areas surrounded by it are large or small. The ventral margins of lateral lobes are black or yellow ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). In conclusion, the body coloration for these specimens are intraspecies variation among different populations. The other morphological characters are very similar to the holotype. Therefore, we conclude all these specimens are examples of Diaphanogryllacris incavatis sp. nov.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Remarks. The new species is similar to Diaphanogryllacris annamita (Griffini, 1909) , but it differs from the latter in: male ninth abdominal tergite obviously curved downwards, and processes of tenth abdominal tergite more directing forwards.

Etymology. The new species name is derived from the shape of male ninth abdominal tergite.
