Etymology. In homage to Dra. Isabel Bassols Batalla, a notable Mexican entomologist who recently passed away, who made valuable contributions to science ( Aguilar, Torres, Jiménez, Jurberg, Galvão & Carcavallo 1999: 359).

Original citation. “Homenagem a Dra. Isabel Bassols Batalla, notável entomóloga mexicana  recentemente falecida, que realizou valiosas contribuições para a ciência” ( Aguilar, Torres, Jiménez, Jurberg, Galvão & Carcavallo 1999: 359).
