Etymology. “This species is dedicated to Dr. Augusto Corredor Arjona, a parasitologist born on October 26, 1930, in Ibague, Colombia. He has dedicated his life to research in parasitology and public health, publishing numerous papers in domestic and international journals and contributing to the orientation and development of tropical disease control program in Colombia ” ( Galvão & Angulo 2006: 66).
