Acanthaleyrodes callicarpae Tak ahashi

Acanthaleyrodes callicarpae Takahashi, 1931: 221 . Lectotype here designated, Taiwan: Shinten, on Callicarpa sp., 14.vi.1931 (designated by A.K. Dubey & S. P. Chen) [TARI].

Host. Callicarpa formosana (Verbenaceae) , Mallotus sp. ( Euphorbiaceae ) ( Takahashi, 1931), Rubus sp. ( Rosaceae ) ( Takahashi, 1933), Vitis vinifera (Vitaceae) ( Mound & Halsey, 1978).

Distribution. Taiwan ( Takahashi, 1931), China [misidentification] ( Young, 1944).

Remarks. There are 11 syntype slides of A. callicarpae available in TARI, Taiwan ( Figs 49 & 52 ). Among these, a lectotype puparium has been selected from among 21 syntype puparia placed under one cover slip, and the lectotype is the fifth puparium of first row from species name bearing label, the puparium is clearly marked by a circle ( Figs 47 & 49 ). The syntype series was collected by Takahashi on Callicarpa from Shinten on June 14, 1931. Several paralectotypes available on two more slides with same collection data ( Figs 49 & 52 ).
