Subfamily Orthocladiinae Kieffer, 1911 (see Spies 2005)

Genus Lebanorthocladius gen. n.

Etymology: After Lebanon and recent genus Orthocladius .

Type species: Lebanorthocladius furcatus sp. n., by present designation.

Diagnosis: The genus differs from all other Orthocladiinae in having the following set of characters: wing bare with anal lobe not produced, bare squama, scutal tubercle present, low venarum ratio, very short costal extension, R 4+5 ending opposite to apex of M 3+4, straight Cu 1, large triangular anal point, furcate gonostylus, and hind tibia with one spur only.
