Type species by original designation: Wygomiris mingorum Schuh, 1984 .

Distinguished from other hallodapine genera by the following characters: brownish to fuscous coloration; with or without weakly contrasting white or pale fascia on hemelytron; distributed with mixed vestiture of recumbent sericeous setae and semierect simple setae on dorsum; tumid antennal segments IĪIV; exposed mesoscutum; moderately protruding ostiolar peritreme; and form of male genital structures. The genus was described by Schuh (1984), with four species described from the Philippines, Laos and Hong Kong. In recent studies Yasunaga (2012) and Yasunaga & Duwal (2015) added three additional species with several new distributional records for previously known species. We herein, provide further distributional records for W. taipokau and W. kaliyahae .

Nothing has been recorded concerning the biology of Wygomiris , but recent investigation by the second author discovered a nymph of W. kaliyahae in Thailand (see below).
