Hallodapus pseudosimilis Schuh, 1974: 96 View in CoL (n. sp.); 1984: 130 (diag., MG); 1995: 226 (cat.).

Diagnosis. Recognized by color pattern on dorsum (Fig. 12A); almost completely pale antennae with dark extreme base on segment I; castaneous femora; a prominent dark thumb-like process on posterior margin of pygophore dorsally (Fig. 12B) and form of male genital structures (Fig. 12C–G). For detailed description see Schuh (1974: 96).

Measurements. (♂) (n= 1). Body length 2.20; length from apex of tylus to cuneal fracture 1.80; width of head across eyes 0.41; width of vertex 0.22; lengths of antennal segments ĪIV 0.19, 0.62, 0.61, 0.42; length of labium 1.20; mesal length of pronotum 0.34; basal width of pronotum 0.58; width across hemelytron 0.72; length of metafemora, tibiae and tarsus 0.78, 1.20, 0.29.

Distribution. South Africa (Transvaal), New Guinea (Eastern Highlands Prov., Morobe Prov.), Nepal * (Kathmandu).

Specimens examined. NEPAL: Kathmandu: 1♂, Samakhushi, on light trap, 31.v.2005, T. Yasunaga ( NMTU).

Remarks. Hallodapus pseudosimilis has been recorded from South Africa and New Guinea by Schuh (1974, 1984). Herein, we report this species from Nepal, which represents the first record from the Oriental Region and proves that this taxon is widely distributed in the Old World (except for Oceania).
