Pterocotes Ewing, 1929: 113 , 192 (Type species: Goniodes aberrans Carriker, 1903 , by original designation). This genus contains 11 species, distributed on birds of the genera Crypturellus View in CoL (2), Nothocercus View in CoL (6), and Tinamus View in CoL (3).
