Remarks. This species was identified from Aktash, where the waters of Ak-su pass to Oxus; Yankihissar, where rivers go to the Yarkand River; and listed by Coad (1981: 15) as Noemacheilus (Triplophysa) tenius , a record of which has not been confirmed in the country. Afghanistan is not included in the natural distribution range of the species. This species was probably misidentified.
