Material examined: none.
Remarks. A species with a controversial general known distribution (see Holm 1991; Beinhundner 2017b; Schoolmeesters 2018). Le Gall (2015) lists the species from several localities in Benin. Biological and ecological data are not available for this species but Holm (1991) referred that D. apicalis mimics Lycidae species.
