Distribution in Guinea-Bissau (Administrative Regions): 1) BAF, BOL, CAC.

Historic records:

— Bafatá (BAF), Bambadinca (BAF), Bubaque (BOL), Suzana (=Susana) (CAC) ( Brivio 1958);

— Churobrique (CAC) ( Gomes Alves 1959 sub Pachnoda marginella Fabricius ).

Material examined: none.

Remarks. The species is widely distributed throughout western and southwestern Africa ( Gomes Alves 1959; Schoolmeesters 2018), but was recorded from a remnant moist Afromontane forest in Ethiopia ( Kebede & Isotalo 2016). Biodiversity information (abundance, habitat preference) was provided for BEN by Tchibozo et al. (2008) and Touroult & Le Gall (2013) and for GHA by Mudge et al. (2012). Gomes Alves (1959) provided some biological comments on this species for Guinea-Bissau and Angola, including remarks of larvae association with Oryctes larvae in decaying trunks of Olaea palms in the former country. Malec (2015) provided some ecological and captive breeding data for this species. It is considered a pest of citrus orchards in GHA due to its economic impact ( Aidoo et al. 2016). The third instar larva was described by Jerath & Unny (1965).
