Diagnosis. The new species differs from Metriogryllacris (Metriogryllacris) bimacula Yu, Liu & Bian, 2022 in: pronotum with black margins, dorsal surface of abdomen black ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ); posterior margin of ninth abdominal tergite with a triangular zone in middle, the lateral sides terminating into a spine, which directing ventrad and forward ( Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 ); the projecting lobe of male subgenital plate shorter, the posterior margin almost straight ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ).

Description.Male. The following characters are in addition to those given in Metriogryllacris (Metriogryllacris) bimacula ’s description. Wings reaching the middle area of sixth abdominal tergite. Tegmina ( Fig. 10C–D View FIGURE 10 ): Radius gives rise to RS in subapical area; media anterior free from base, undivided or divided in apical area ( Fig. 10D View FIGURE 10 ); media posterior absent; cubitus anterior divides into two branches behind middle of tegmen ( Fig. 10C View FIGURE 10 ) or not ( Fig. 10D View FIGURE 10 ); cubitus posterior undivided, free throughout; with 3 anal veins. Hind femora with 9–11 internal and 6 external spines on ventral surface; tibiae with 6 internal and 7 external spines on dorsal surface. Posterior margin of ninth abdominal tergite with a triangular zone in middle, the lateral sides terminating into a spine (may be mobile in alive), its apex directing ventrad and forward ( Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 ). Subgenital plate wider than long, the lateral margins convex, apical area trapezoidal projected in the middle, posterior margin faintly concave ( Fig. 5G View FIGURE 5 ); styli short, inserted at the lateral constriction.

Female. Unknown.

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes black. Median ocellus pale. Pronotum with black margins, which widened at anterior and posterior margins, disc with blackish stripes ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). Dorsal surface of abdomen black.

Measurements (mm). Male: BL 18.1, PL 4.7, TL 11.9, HFL 10.4.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Guadun, Wuyishan , Fujian, July 22, 2022, coll. by Yafei Wang.

Distribution. Fujian (Wuyishan).

Etymology. Name derived from Latin obscurat, referring to pronotum with blackish stripe along the midline.
