Diagnosis. Antenna brownish yellow; frons with group of 5–6 long thick pale hairs on postero­lateral slope; FI with row of long pale ventral hairs (as long as width of FI).

Description. Male body length 5.4–5.9 mm, wing length 5.5 mm.

Head metallic green with pale gray pollen; vertex distinctly excavated, frons subshining. Hairs and bristles on head black; middle and lower postocular bristles (including postero­ventral hairs) pale; frons with 1 pvt and 1 group of 5–6 long thick pale hairs on postero­lateral slope, ocellar tubercle with 2 long strong oc. Antenna brownish yellow; scape somewhat swollen; pedicel with circlet of apical bristles (including 2 long ventral bristles); first flagellomere triangular, nearly as long as wide; arista apical, blackish except narrow base brown, slightly longer than head + thorax. Proboscis dark yellow with brownish hairs; palpus dark yellow with brownish hairs.

Thorax metallic green with pale gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on thorax black; 2 strong posterior dc and 3 anterior hairs; 3 long irregularly paired acr; scutellum with 2 pairs of sc, basal pair very short and hair­like. Legs yellow brown; CI yellow, CII and CIII blackish; t 2­5 brown. Hairs and bristles on legs black; coxae with pale hairs; CI with 2 yellow spine­like apico­lateral bristles. Femora with long pale ventral hairs: FI with row of long pale ventral hairs (as long as width of FI); FII and FIII with row of short pale ventral hairs on basal half (as long as width of FII and FIII). TI with 1 short ad at basal 1/7, apically with 1 short bristle; TII with 1 long strong ad at basal 1/5, 3 av and 1 pd at basal 1/3, apically with 3 long bristles; TIII with 1 long ad at basal 1/6, 10 av and 9 pd, apically with 2 long bristles. TI apical 1/4 and It 1 basal half somewhat flattened with very short dense ventral pubescence ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 4–5 ). Relative lengths of tibia and tarsomeres: LI 3.2: 2.6: 0.9: 0.7: 0.4: 0.3; LII 3.9: 3.5:?:?:?:?; LIII 4.0: 3.3:?:?:?:?. Wing: hyaline, tinged with brown; veins dark brown, M 1 concave, crossvein m­cu straight. Squama dark yellow. Halter brownish yellow with pale knob.

Abdomen dark metallic green with gray pollen. Hairs and bristles on abdomen black, but sterna 1–2 with pale hairs.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 4–5 ): Epandrium distinctly much longer than wide with 1 lateral hair; surstylus rather thick with 3 apical bristles, basally with a short lateral process; hypandrium rather thick with narrow left lateral arm; aedeagus thick; cercus furcate.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype male, Guangdong: Ruyuan , 23°20’N, 115°23’E, 24. 07. 2003, leg. Xinyue Liu. GoogleMaps Paratype 1 male, same data as holotype GoogleMaps .

Distribution. China (Guangdong).

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality Ruyuan.

Remarks. The new species is similar to C. jinpinganum , but can be separated from the latter by the metallic green thorax. In C. jinpinganum , the thorax is yellow.
