General Distribution: Cyprus, Egypt, Greece (Rodos), Iran, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey ( Danilevsky 2020).

Distribution in Turkey: Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bartin, Bolu, Bursa, Çankiri, Çorum, Diyarbakir, Düzce, Hakkari, Hatay, Içel, Izmir, Kahramanmaraş, Karabük, Kastamonu, Kirikkale, Konya, Muş, Nevşehir, Niğde, Osmaniye, and Tunceli provinces ( Bolu et al. 2010; Özdikmen and Cihan 2016), Balikesir province ( Abacigil et al. 2019), Sakarya, Tekirdağ, and Yozgat provinces ( Tezcan et al. 2020), Gaziantep, Karaman, Kayseri, Malatya, and Manisa provinces ( Özdikmen and Tezcan 2020). With the present study, the species was also newly recorded in the Diyarbakir, Elaziğ, Mardin, and Şanliurfa provinces.

Larval Host Plants: Extremely polyphagous species developing on multiple deciduous trees, shrubs, and even herbaceous plants ( Ataş et al. 2022a).

Notes. The species was reared from V. vinifera branches of the Mazrone variety. The species is the one of most common pests of grapevine in the area and is capable of killing by itself ( Ataş et al. 2022a). Damage caused by C. damascenus probably allows entrance for many other species of wood borers.
