Diagnosis. The species can be diagnosed by the absence of hair pencils on the male labial palpi and the forewing without costal strigulae. Compared to other related species, the transverse median streak on the forewing is narrower and the tornal area is simply marked with an irregular patch. The male genitalia are similar to those of T. karsholti , but the valva of T. angustifasciata is narrower and the saccus is broader at base. The female genitalia are diagnosed by the very narrow ductus bursae and the weakly developed antrum.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 15G View FIGURE 15 ). Wingspan 11.5−13.0 mm. Head white to creamy white. Labial palpus white; segment I short, segment II approximately 3 times as long as I; segment III slightly longer than II, ventral margin often black, apex black tipped; male without hair pencil. Antenna with scape white; flagellum with dorsal surface white in basal 1/2 and yellowish white in distal 1/2, darker toward apex, ventral surface light brown to fuscous; male cilia longer than diameter. Thorax white, posterior 1/2 with two indistinct yellow streaks. Tegula white except anterior margin brown. Forewing ground color white to creamy white, basal 1/4 of costa broadly suffused with brownish scales, this dark shade rarely developed as a broad streak running along costa; apical spot elongate, sometimes indistinct, rarely suffused inwardly with grey scales, apex falcate; markings brown to dark brown, often mixed with yellowish scales: two narrow, outwardly oblique costal streaks from distal 1/5 and 1/4 of wing, respectively, outer streak sometimes darker, running almost parallel with inner streak, reaching apical spot distally; a narrow, rarely broad, transverse streak running from basal 1/3 of dorsum to 1/2 of costa, often broadened on costa and extended toward costal streak along subcosta; a large, yellow or yellowish brown patch on dorsum near tornus, usually irregularly shaped, sometimes indistinct, rarely reaching costal streak anteriorly; fringe on apical area white between costal streak and apical spot, brown between apical spot and extreme apex; fringe on termen white, sometimes with metallic grey scales distally; fringe on dorsum grey. Hindwing dark grey except apex usually dirty-white, fringe grey. Legs white; fore femur, tibia and tarsus black on outer surface; mid tibia tinged with black at base, with a black oblique streak on outer surface after middle, this streak sometimes reduced as a spot; hind tibia suffused with dark grey near apex; mid and hind tarsi with tarsomere I broadly black at middle, II and III black in basal half of outer surface.

Male sternum VIII ( Fig. 26F View FIGURE 26 ). Approximately 1/5 length of abdomen, with lateral margins broadly concave; posterior 1/4 bifid, U-shaped between two tines, bluntly pointed apically.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 39F View FIGURE 39 ). Uncus tongue-shaped. Gnathos hook long and simple. Tegumen approximately 2.5 times as long as uncus. Valva narrow, slightly curved outward, distal 1/3 slightly broadened and densely setose, round at apex. Anellus lobe digitate, 1/4 length of valva, with a hooked apical bristle. Juxta broadly convex, with long sparse setae. Vinculum with posterior margin broadly convex. Saccus subtriangular, slightly or not exceeding tegumen pedunculus, round at apex. Aedeagus with basal 1/3 globular, then gradually narrowing to apex; distal 2/3 slightly curved downward, dorsal margin shortly produced at distal 1/3.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 56B View FIGURE 56 ). Papillae anales simple. Apophyses anteriores 1/2 length of apophyses posteriores. Tergum with posterior margin deeply concave at middle. Sternum VIII longer than tergum VIII, with anterior margin strongly produced in U-shaped. Ostium bursae round, opening at middle of sternum VIII. Antrum weakly developed, long. Ductus bursae very narrow, slightly broader toward corpus bursae, with colliculum arising from posterior 2/7. Corpus bursae elliptical, sometimes with lateral margins broadly concave, as long or slightly longer than ductus bursae; signum large and round, consisting of minute denticles, bulged inward, situated at posterior 1/3 of corpus bursae.

Variation. One female from Fujian has the forewing with broader markings strongly mixed with yellow compared to the specimens from Hubei and Zhejiang.

Distribution. China (Fujian, Hubei, Zhejiang).

Etymology. The species name is derived from Latin, angustus (narrow) and fasciatus (banded), referring to the narrow transverse streak at middle of the forewing.
