Diagnosis. Adult ( Figs 21E, F View FIGURE 21 ). Wingspan 12.5−19.0 mm. Thiotricha embolarcha generally has a large wingspan and it can easily be recognized by the pale ochre forewing marked with dark brown longitudinal streaks. The male labial palpus has a long segment I and hair pencil on segment II as in the pancratiastis -group. However, the signum ( Fig. 62 View FIGURE 62 A−D) of T. embolarcha consists of several thorn-like processes whereas the signa of the pancratiastis -group are typically round with minute denticles.

Distribution. China (Guangxi, Hainan, Taiwan, Yunnan), Cambodia (new record), Indonesia.

Remarks. This species was described from a single female specimen collected from Java. Based on examination of additional specimens from China, females are usually larger than males, and the shape of signa can vary (fig. 62A−D). This species is recorded from China and Cambodia for the first time.
