Generic diagnosis. Piesocorynus View in CoL can be distinguished by the oval, entire and coarsely faceted eyes (14–24 longitudinal rows of facets). The only other genus with this character is Brevibarra View in CoL , which is not recorded from Wisconsin. It can also be recognized by the length of the 3 rd antennal segment (longer than either the 2 nd or 4 th), lobed elytral bases overhanging the pronotal base, and by the apically rounded intercoxal process of the mesothoracic sternum.
