Diagnosis. Male. Specimens large and robust (12.0– 15.7 mm long and 2.4–3.7 mm wide) (11.0– 17.5 mm long sensu Cambra et al., 2016) (Figs 3, 4); head quadrangular with rounded contours in dorsal view (Fig. 19); basal ventral tooth simple (Fig. 17, indicated); antennal tubercle projected as a slight sub-triangular lamellate protuberance (flattened laterally) on inner face (Fig. 19, indicated); first segment of metasoma relatively short (1.4x as long as wide) ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 20–29 ); gonobase densely hairy on sides ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 20–29 ); distal third of paramere with numerous long setae ( Figs 25, 26 View FIGURES 20–29 ).

Description. Casal (1964) described and illustrated this species in detail; we only add images of habitus and characters useful for its identification.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype male (not examined). ARGENTINA: La Rioja, Patquia , II/1959, M. J. Viana.

Studied material. Paratype, 1 male: ARGENTINA: Catamarca, Belén, La Ciénaga, 1926, Weiser Wolters ( MACN) . Other material , 17 males: ARGENTINA: Catamarca, 5 km N de Palo Blanco , 23–24/V/2007, P. Fidalgo c/luz, (9 males, IFML) ; ca Saujil ( Fiambala ), 16/II/2007, P. Fidalgo, c/luz, (5 males, IFML) ; La Rioja, ca El Barrial , R 7, 17/II/2006, J. Torrens & P. Fidalgo, c/luz (1 male, IFML) ; 7 km N de Santa Teresita , 18/II/2006, G. Fidalgo & P. Fidalgo c/luz (2 males, IFML) .

Distribution. ARGENTINA: Catamarca, Chubut, La Rioja, Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro.
