Diagnosis: Test almost spherical; narrowing towards pseudostome; widening towards the base with the presence of 5-10 spines; test formed by quartz crystals; aperture large and occupies half the diameter of the test; measurements 73-125 µm.
Distribution in India: Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala (Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve), Tamil Nadu (present record), Tripura, West Bengal.
