TYPE LOCALITY: Gabon, Makokou .

DISTRIBUTION: Two localities in rainforest of NE Gabon, Belinga and Makokou.

STATUS: IUCN - Insufficiently known. Very localized, listed in Nicoll and Rathbun (1990:21).

COMMENTS: Ecology described by Brosset (1988). One of the smallest shrews; species not recorded again since its description.
