TYPE LOCALITY: "In Sibiria"; usually taken as Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. See Ellerman et al. (1953) .

DISTRIBUTION: W Cape Prov. and Robben Isl. ( South Africa); perhaps Damaraland, Namibia.

SYNONYMS: auratus, aurea, capensis , bayoni, calviniae, concolor , damarensis, dixoni, elegans , inaurata, minor , namaquensis, rubra, shortridgei, taylori, tenuis , visserae (see Meester et al., 1986).
