Current status: Lixus rosenschoeldi Boheman, 1842 View in CoL is a valid species.
Type. In Schoenherr’s collection at SMNH, under the name “ Rosenschoeldi , Schh., 45–46, Bhn.” is a male pinned through the right elytron bearing the printed labels: “Lusit”, “Rosenschöld”, and fitting the description with type locality as Lusitania. It is here designated as lectotype with “ Lectotypus, 3, Lixus rosenschoeldi Boh., Gültekin des. 2006”.
Remarks. This species is closely related to Lixus elegantulus Boheman , clearly differing by the shorter and more conical, thick rostrum and long acute mucronate apex of elytra.
