Current status: Lixus zoubkoffi Boheman, 1835 View in CoL is a junior synonym of L. rubicundus Zoubkoff, 1833 View in CoL .

Type. In Schoenherr’s collection at SMNH, under the name “ Zoubkoffi , Schh., 113–158, Bhn.” is a male formerly pinned by a large pin through the right elytron (pin was changed with a thinner one, thus the hole is wider than the pin; elytra separated, right funicle beyond segment 4, right middle leg, left middle tarsus and right fore claws missing) bearing the handwritten labels: “3”, “Lit: orientale Maris, Caspici, Bartels”, and fitting the description with type locality as Caspii. A female pinned through the right elytron (right fore tibia and tarsus missing) bearing the handwritten labels: “Ƥ”, “ L. rubicundus Zoubkoff, Lit : orientale, Maris, Caspici, Bartels”, fits description, and is here designated as paralectotype with “ Paralectotypus, Ƥ, Lixus zoubkoffi Boh., Gültekin des. 2006”, “ Lixus rubicundus Zoubk., Gültekin det. 2006”.
