Type species: Cellaria barbata Lamarck, 1816 ; Recent ; Australia and New Zealand .
Diagnosis.—Colony erect, articulated. Autozooecia elongate with perforated frontal wall and well−defined ascopore. Oral spines and avicularia not developed. Ovicell peristomial.
Stratigraphic and geographic range.—Palaeogene to Recent, cosmopolitan.
