TYPE LOCALITY: Uruguay, Maldonado .

DISTRIBUTION: S Uruguay and EC Argentina.

SYNONYMS: benefactus.

COMMENTS: Type species of Cabreramys ( Massoia and Fornes, 1967) , considered a junior synonym of Bolomys by Reig (1987).
